There are always a lot of events at various churches, especially around the great festivals of the Christian calendar. Immanuel Church, Kokura celebrated 120 years of mission on September 8th.
We also have a visit from our Philippine partners this month. Rev. Feliciano Balangui arrived in Fukuoka today, and will be visiting a number of churches in Kyushu. These will include the Church of the Resurrection in Kagoshima, where there will be a talk on the life and work of St Paul on Sunday, September 22nd, followed by a workshop the following day (a national holiday in Japan). Rev. Shibamoto of Kokura Immanuel is organising the event in Kagoshima, so he is very busy this month.
